Hello everyone, this is Dr, Ghossein with you on blog 6, my observations on the present Canadian government's foreign affairs file.
I know it is exiting times in Canadian politics, better yet Liberal govrnments' politics, the essence of the phrase "deja-vue".
First the HuaWei fiasco, then the SNC-Lavalin fiasco followed by the resignation of the Honourable minister Jody Wilson-Raybould today, and honourable she is.
The fiasco of Vice-Admiral Mark Norman and the resignation of Scott Brison from cabinet, yet to unfold, and perhaps lots more to come, we still have about 8 months for fiascoes to be created, Oh allegedly that is.
Notice how famous and frequently used the word allegedly becomes when the liberals are in power. Boy you can not see the sunny ways our prime minister have promised even if you use the discovery telescope, is it ever so cloudy over the Liberal Camp these days, and I know the fan is overloaded, for everyone is trying to avoid the smell.
But as they say in the Ancient Land; We have moved too far from the jackets, and as we say here I digress. for I wanted to wind down the Canadian foreign affairs file.
So today in blog 6, I will introduce to you the issues and situations facing other nations, but our present Canadian government, will feel the need push into it, its very long nose which is getting longer as we speak, with no benefits to anyone here or there, and that observation is based on the way our present government sees the world.
Issues and situations that other nations have, could be divided into; internal or national, external or regional and international. Let us start with the hot spots, in a descending direction based on the level of seriousness of the issue:
1 - China: Its human rights record, its treatment of its own citizens, especially the ethnic and religious minorities, the Tibet question, its international trade practises, its expansionist agenda in the south China see, its ever rising ambitions to widen its sphere of influence, etc.
2 - Russia: Domestic unrest, human rights, expansionist moves and ambitions, support for questionable regimes around the world, preserving and expanding its sphere of influence, etc.
3 - Southeast Asia: Internal unrest, Corruption, poverty, Human rights, dictatorships(totalitarian, authoritarian military regimes), sanctions, puppets of regional and super powers, etc.
4 - Iran: Human rights,(Kurds on its border with Turkey), poverty, corruption, Sanctions, Expansionist moves, support of questionable regimes and organisations, Nuclear ambitions, Regional disputes, etc.
5 - Turkey: Its commitment to NATO, its push towards the European Union membership, Historical hate of the Greeks, Human rights, thousands of its own citizens are political prisoners, incarcerated without trial under one pretext or another, its treatment of ethnic and religious minorities( 20 million Kurds inside Turkey badly treated for decades), problems with Kurds around its borders with Syria, Iraq, Iran, Expansionist moves in Syria continues, very important to remind all, that Turkey in 1936 by military force annexed a large part of north western Syria called Alexandretta, land the size of Cyprus, and now Turkey is occupying a border zone in norther Syria under the pretext of fighting ISIS.
I must remind all, that Turkey still occupies half of Cyprus. Here is a dozy for you,Turkey was the largest culprit in allowing the build up of foreign individuals joining ISIS through it borders with Syria and Iraq, helping in the creation of millions of refugees that the Turkish government used to collect billions of dollars, and as bargaining chip to enter the EU.
The largest issue for Turkey by far is the collective conscience of all generations of the Turks, They must answer to all the atrocities they committed in the region especially the Armenian Genocide, the Turks slaughtered more than 2 million Armenians, they still refuse to admit that fact, and they have the audacity to question China's treatment of the Muslim minority there, at least China is pressing its minority to conform, they are not committing a genocide. (the Genocide, or the slaughter of Armenians by the Turks will be the subject of few of my blogs later).
Remember these problems are the ones that our present government might raise or not, because in the mind of our government all these problems must be solved in order to attain the united global world,
otherwise our minister of foreign affairs might hit all of these nations with hard tweets,or our present Prime Minister might vigorously tickle the leaders of governments around the world.
